About the position

The Loader Operator at Pull-A-Part is responsible for operating heavy equipment to assist in the dismantling and processing of vehicles in an automotive salvage environment. This role emphasizes safety, customer service, and teamwork, while also providing opportunities for personal and professional growth within a customer-focused company.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize cleanliness and appearance of the facility and work area.
  • Deliver friendly, helpful, and professional customer service to customers.
  • Abide by company policies, safety guidelines, and standard operating procedures (SOP's).
  • Comply with the company dress code and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on heavy operating equipment and notify supervisor of any issues.
  • Make general repairs on heavy operating equipment if directed and trained.
  • Safely operate heavy equipment (loader) to transport, process, set, and dismantle vehicles.
  • Clean and service forklifts and other heavy equipment regularly.
  • Learn new skills and assist teammates with automotive salvage and recycling tasks.
  • Meet personal and team performance goals.
  • Commit to working production hours, including occasional overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Work in an industrial, outdoor environment with exposure to all weather conditions.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Mechanic experience and general automotive understanding.
  • Experience operating a loader or comparable heavy equipment.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use mobile devices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools.
  • Willingness to stand, walk, bend, lift 50lbs, and stretch as required.
  • Reliable means of transportation to work.

Nice-to-haves

  • Forklift or other heavy equipment operating certifications.
  • Basic knowledge of auto parts.
  • Experience in maintenance on heavy operating equipment such as loaders, hydraulics, tow motors, forklifts.
