About the position

The Loader Operator position at Oldcastle APG involves operating heavy equipment to produce high-quality outdoor living solutions while adhering to safety policies and procedures. Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine operator adjustments and material requirements
• Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule or templates
• Observe equipment operation to detect machine malfunction
• Perform routine maintenance to include lubricating, fueling and cleaning
• Inspect and complete equipment report daily
• Maintain housekeeping in a clear and orderly fashion in assigned area
• Operate equipment by moving levers, shifting gears, depressing pedals, and maneuvering steering wheel
• Perform other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum of two years of related experience in trades specific to job requirements
• Ability to pass an internal certification program
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations
• Common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
• Maintain a high level of accuracy in work assignments
• Regularly required to speak or hear
• Ability to sit for extended periods and stand frequently
• Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs, occasionally up to 65lbs, using team lifting or equipment
