About the position

The Loan Boarding Specialist II plays a crucial role in the loan processing department at First Interstate Bank. This position is responsible for reviewing, verifying, and ensuring that all required closed loan documents have been received and accurately booked into the Loan Accounting System. The specialist will handle a variety of loan products, including Consumer, Commercial, and Specialty loans, which can range from simple to complex transactions. The role requires strict adherence to bank procedures and policies, ensuring that all loan documentation is complete and compliant with regulatory standards. In this position, the Loan Boarding Specialist will be tasked with boarding and booking closed loans, which involves entering compliance and collateral information into the system. A significant part of the job includes reviewing batch-scanned documents to verify their accuracy and proper execution, ensuring that there are no alterations or discrepancies. The specialist will also coordinate with various parties to obtain any missing information necessary to meet the boarding requirements, thus ensuring a smooth and efficient loan processing experience. The Loan Boarding Specialist is expected to perform timely and accurate loan activating TMS entries and monitor queue volumes to adjust their workload as necessary. This role is critical in maintaining the bank's service level agreements regarding completeness, accuracy, and turn time standards, which are essential for operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Boards/Books closed loans to the Loan Accounting System, including compliance and collateral information.
  • Reviews the batch-scanned documents to verify receipt, accuracy, and proper execution of loan documents and that there are no alterations in the documents.
  • Coordinates efforts with appropriate parties to obtain missing information needed to meet boarding requirements.
  • Upon validation of completeness of boarding package, boards loans, determines funding requirements and forwards to Loan Funding queue.
  • Performs loan activating TMS entries in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Monitors queue volumes and adjusts workload as necessary.
  • Performs job responsibilities in accordance with the completeness, accuracy and turn time standards per established service level agreements.

Requirements

  • Experience in loan processing or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing documents.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with various parties.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Loan Accounting Systems and TMS entries.
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations related to loan processing.
