Loan Counselor/Late Stage Collections

About the position

As the Loan Counselor at Cascade, you are responsible for providing a high degree of quality customer service while working with borrowers to make timely payments and handle borrower repayment issues. You will evaluate borrowers for Loss Mitigation assistance and make collection calls in compliance with federal regulations. This is a permanent remote-work role with full desktop equipment provided, offering top hourly pay starting at $20/hour and up to $750/month in bonus. Responsibilities

• Evaluating borrower information and loan file to determine payment options for minor issues.
• Determining when the borrower needs to be escalated to loss mitigation.
• Answering customer inquiries about their mortgage loan.
• Documenting all communications between borrower and Cascade, as well as updating the servicing computer system with any insurance information.
• Communicating with other departments about loan payments and/or borrower issues.
• Working with the Collection/Loss Mitigation Manager and Loan Counselor Team Lead to identify problems and improve recovery.
• Assisting with other duties as necessary.

Requirements

• Intermediate Microsoft Word & Excel experience.
• Prior collection experience.
• Prior experience or familiarity with FHA or mortgage loan programs.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and employees.
• Ability to adjust easily to work situations based on employee, group, or business needs.
• Excellent listening, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to work as a team member and follow directions.
• Ability to work well under pressure.

Nice-to-haves
