About the position

The Loan Officer Assistant at loanDepot is responsible for supporting the Loan Consultant and/or Sales Manager in loan origination activities and administrative tasks related to serving clients and borrowers. This role focuses on qualifying prospective borrowers, facilitating communication, and ensuring the smooth processing of loan files, while not engaging in personal loan production.

Responsibilities

• Qualifying prospective borrowers and providing a list of items needed for successful loan funding and completion.
• Communicating effectively with prospective borrowers by providing estimated worksheets and rate quotes.
• Meeting with realtors and builders to develop business for assigned Loan Consultant/Sales Manager.
• Facilitating open communication with borrowers and Loan Processors at the branch or corporate office.
• Interacting with the processing organization and operations to ensure all files are closed on behalf of assigned Loan Consultant.
• Providing daily/weekly status updates to the Loan Consultant regarding the status of all files in progress.
• Attending mandatory Loan Consultant meetings as identified.
• Assisting Loan Consultant/Sales Manager with identified CRM activities.
• Performing other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) years in the financial services/mortgage industry required.
• NMLS loan originator license preferred.
• Continuing education classes required by licensing authority, if applicable.
• Continuing training classes required by the company to meet CFPB requirements, if applicable.
• High School Degree or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience working in a similar field.
