About the position

The Loan Officer at Saint Francis Health System's Credit Union is responsible for providing information on loan products and services, processing loan applications, and supervising branch operations in the absence of the branch manager. This role requires a strong understanding of consumer lending and the ability to communicate effectively with members to meet their financial needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide information on Credit Union products to current and potential members.
• Interview members to determine consumer loan needs.
• Evaluate and approve/decline member applications for consumer loans by analyzing financial status and credit based on Credit Union lending guidelines.
• Process loan applications by verifying information, evaluating credit risk, and ensuring all required information is reviewed with the loan application.
• Communicate with members on loan process and loan decision.
• Close loans and ensure consumer loan agreements are complete and accurate according to Credit Union policy.
• Review delinquency reports and perform collection efforts on past-due loans.
• Communicate details of collection efforts to the Credit Union Manager and make recommendations for resolution.
• Ensure security interest in collateral is complete and filed correctly to manage the risk of loss to the Credit Union.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all state and federal regulations that apply to the lending and transactions performed in the lending function.
• Advise members regarding their financial condition as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3 years of experience in consumer lending.
• Knowledge of consumer lending requirements and programs.
• Ability to understand both verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively with others.
• Ability to maintain positive professional relationships.
• Ensure confidentiality of information.
