About the position

The Loan Officer IV at BankPlus is responsible for meeting the banking needs of customers by focusing on the generation, approval, and servicing of customer loans while adhering to bank policies and regulations. This role involves building relationships with borrowers, soliciting new business, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the loan process.

Responsibilities

  • Build rapport and leverage customer relationships with existing and potential borrowers.
  • Solicit and develop new business by calling on current and prospective customers for loan and deposit generation.
  • Interview loan applicants and gather necessary documentation.
  • Evaluate credit data, cash flow, financial statements, and collateral to determine creditworthiness.
  • Communicate reasons for loan denials to applicants as necessary.
  • Review loan renewal requests for continued creditworthiness.
  • Submit required documents to the Credit Analysis group for processing.
  • Prepare documents for loan processing including loan worksheets and documentation sheets.
  • Perform beneficial ownership analysis and enter information in nCino for credit.
  • Order appraisals and verify prefunding conditions are met before closing.
  • Conduct preliminary reviews of Articles, Operating Agreements, and Certificates of Good Standing.
  • Perform site visits for collateral inspection and verification.
  • Generate commitment letters and term sheets as needed.
  • Monitor asset-based lending and manage draws and lines of credit for construction loans.
  • Provide accurate HMDA and CRA information requirements.
  • Ensure accurate loan closing by reviewing documents and securing signatures.
  • Service loans from closing to payoff, ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the process.
  • Review NSF reports and contact customers regarding insufficient funds.
  • Monitor past due loans and counsel customers with delinquent accounts.
  • Participate in community affairs to enhance business opportunities.
  • Maintain knowledge of bank products, services, and regulatory issues.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of similar or related experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, or Loan Origination
  • Previous experience with BankPlus products, services, and systems preferred
  • General computer and typing experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Driving and occasional travel as needed for business purposes

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in commercial and residential real estate lending
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance related to banking
