Paramount Residential Mortgage Group (PRMG) is seeking a dedicated Loan Officer to join our team at our Somerville, NJ location. As a Loan Officer, you will play a crucial role in helping clients navigate their mortgage options, ensuring they receive the best possible service and support throughout the loan process. In this position, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that satisfy customer needs through a comprehensive array of mortgage products and services. You will utilize your judgment and discretion to maintain an uninterrupted flow of business, ensuring that all client interactions are handled with professionalism and care. Effective communication is key, as you will act as a liaison between customers and various internal departments, facilitating a cohesive business flow. The role requires a significant amount of time spent outside of the office, meeting with clients and potential customers to discuss their residential mortgage financing needs. You will verify, compile, and input application information for mortgage loans, advising clients on their home loan options and ensuring that all application data is complete and meets established standards. Your attention to detail will be essential in identifying any discrepancies in title or survey, and you will be expected to perform other related duties as assigned. A current, valid NMLS license or appointment in good standing is required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies, compiles, and inputs application information for mortgage loans.
  • Discusses and advises clients on their home loan options.
  • Reviews residential loan application files to ensure completeness and compliance with standards.
  • Informs supervisor of discrepancies in title or survey.
  • Develops and implements strategies to satisfy customer needs through a full array of products and services.
  • Uses judgment and discretion to ensure uninterrupted flow of business.
  • Communicates effectively with co-workers and customers, acting as a liaison between customers and internal departments.
  • Utilizes office equipment such as computer terminals, copiers, and FAX machines.

Requirements

  • Must have applicable state licensing.
  • Two to five years of experience preferred.
  • Must actively fund more than 2 loans/month, complete Xinnix Training for Loan Origination, or have an origination mentor assigned who funds more than 2 loans/month.

  • Ability to make sound judgments on service, credit decision, funding, and post-close issues.
  • Ability to problem-solve and exercise independent judgment while displaying a high degree of initiative.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational skills necessary to prioritize workload and delegate responsibility.
