About the position

The Loan Officer at Gesa Credit Union plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of the department and the credit union by proactively reaching assigned sales goals. This position focuses on providing enthusiastic, professional, and quality service to members while identifying their lending needs and cross-selling appropriate credit union products and services. The Loan Officer is expected to have intermediate to advanced knowledge of consumer lending and demonstrate the ability to deliver excellent member service consistently.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service to all whom we serve.
  • Seek to deepen member relationships by delivering solutions to members' lending needs.
  • Develop knowledge and skills through formal training classes or on-the-job experience.
  • Generate new loan business through sales activities in accordance with assigned sales goals.
  • Identify and recommend additional lending opportunities to increase relationships with members.
  • Promote and sell all credit union products and services to meet sales and referral goals.
  • Provide support to colleagues in the facilitation of the loan application from initial submission to loan funding.
  • Recommend new and innovative ways to streamline processes.
  • Adhere to and maintain knowledge of offered products, policies, procedures, and related regulatory requirements.
  • Perform online video notary sessions with members for application completion and perfection of collateral.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in consumer loan products and applications.
  • Assist with System Testing of new products and software.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or equivalent required.
  • Minimum two (2) years of financial industry experience.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in sales, meeting, and exceeding sales goals.
  • Must be a notary or obtain Remote Online Notary and Electronic Notary endorsements within 90 days of hire.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of consumer lending.
  • Previous experience with cross-selling and/or referring products.
