About the position

Cardinal Credit Union is seeking a dedicated Loan Officer to join our team in Mentor, OH. As a Loan Officer, you will play a crucial role in assisting our members and potential members with their credit union needs. This position involves providing account information both over the phone and in person, as well as offering insights into the full range of credit union products and services. You will be responsible for opening accounts for members, conducting interviews, and professionally addressing the daily needs of our members. In this role, you will evaluate applicants for routine loans and process loan applications. This includes gathering background information and analyzing the credit history of loan applicants. Our Loan Officers are also tasked with providing a variety of transaction services to members, which encompasses loan processing, closing, and disbursal. Meeting minimum performance standards regarding referrals, sales, production, and quality control is essential, and you will have the opportunity to participate in a generous incentive program. Responsibilities

  • Assist members and potential members with their Credit Union needs.

Requirements

  • Six months to two years of similar or related experience as a Loan Officer.
  • Preferred college degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a significant level of trust and diplomacy required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a credit union or banking environment.
  • Knowledge of loan processing and underwriting procedures.
