We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Loan Officer to join our team at Mission San Jose Mortgage. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating, authorizing, and processing loan applications for individuals and businesses. As a Loan Officer, you will act as a crucial liaison between our clients and the financial institution, ensuring that qualified applicants can acquire loans in a timely and efficient manner. Your expertise will be essential in guiding clients through the loan process, from initial application to final approval or denial. Your primary responsibilities will include evaluating the creditworthiness of applicants by processing loan applications and documentation within specified limits. You will conduct interviews with applicants to assess their financial eligibility and the feasibility of granting loans. Additionally, you will determine applicable ratios and metrics, set up debt payment plans, and communicate effectively with clients to request or provide necessary information. It will be your responsibility to justify decisions regarding loan approvals or rejections and to report on these outcomes. You will also be tasked with completing loan contracts and counseling clients on policies and restrictions related to their loans. Keeping your knowledge up to date on various types of loans and financial services will be crucial for your success in this role. You will maintain and update account records, assess customer needs, and explore all available options to introduce different types of loans. Building referral networks and suggesting alternate channels will be part of your strategy to cross-sell products and services to meet quotas. Going the extra mile to build trust and foster customer loyalty and satisfaction throughout the underwriting process is essential. Finally, you will operate in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, adhering to lending compliance guidelines.
