About the position

The Loan Officer position is designed to support the success of originators by focusing on the essential areas that contribute to their effectiveness. The role involves developing and implementing strategies to meet customer needs through a comprehensive range of mortgage products and services. The Loan Officer will be responsible for ensuring a seamless flow of business by using sound judgment and discretion in their operations. Effective communication is crucial, as the Loan Officer will act as a liaison between customers and the company's internal departments, ensuring that all parties are aligned and informed throughout the mortgage process. The position requires the Loan Officer to spend a significant portion of their working hours—over 50%—engaging with customers and potential clients outside of the office environment. This includes meeting with clients to discuss their home loan options, verifying and compiling application information, and reviewing loan application files to ensure completeness and compliance with established standards. The Loan Officer will also be responsible for identifying any discrepancies in title or survey and will perform other related duties as assigned. A current, valid NMLS license or appointment in good standing is required for this role, along with applicable state licensing and relevant experience in the mortgage industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements strategies to satisfy customer needs through a full array of products and services.
  • Ensures uninterrupted flow of business using judgment and discretion.
  • Communicates effectively with co-workers and customers, acting as a liaison between customers and internal departments.
  • Verifies, compiles, and inputs application information for mortgage loans.
  • Discusses and advises clients on their home loan options.
  • Reviews residential loan application files for completeness and compliance with standards.
  • Informs supervisor of discrepancies in title or survey.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current, valid NMLS license or appointment in good standing.
  • Applicable state licensing is required.
  • Two to five years of experience in the mortgage industry is preferred.
  • Must actively fund more than 2 loans/month, complete Xinnix Training for Loan Origination, or have an origination mentor assigned who funds more than 2 loans/month.
