About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Loan Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for guiding clients through the loan application process, ensuring compliance with Fair Housing regulations, and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires a strong understanding of loan origination, processing, and credit analysis to facilitate successful transactions.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and analyze client financial information to determine eligibility for loans.
• Guide clients through the loan application process, explaining terms and conditions clearly.
• Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations throughout the lending process.
• Prepare and review loan documents, including contracts and escrow agreements.
• Collaborate with underwriters to facilitate loan approvals in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records of all transactions and client interactions using accounting software.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, real estate agents, and other stakeholders to drive sales.
• Stay updated on industry trends, FNMA guidelines, and changes in loan processing procedures.

Requirements

• Proven experience in loan origination or related fields is preferred.
• Strong understanding of Fair Housing regulations and compliance requirements.
• Proficient in math skills necessary for credit analysis and financial assessments.
• Familiarity with escrow processes and contract management is advantageous.
• Excellent sales skills with a focus on customer service and relationship building.
• Ability to utilize accounting software effectively for record keeping and reporting.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
