About the position

The Loan Operations Specialist at Pathfinder Bank plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient loan account management and customer service. This position is integral to the Loan Operations Team, responsible for setting up new loans, maintaining existing accounts, and supporting various loan operations functions. The specialist will foster positive customer interactions while adhering to confidentiality and compliance standards, contributing to the bank's community-focused mission.

Responsibilities

  • Setup new loans on the core processing system within two business days of funding.
  • Perform file maintenance on existing accounts with accuracy on a daily basis.
  • Assist Loan Servicing Specialists with detailed research and problem-solving on loan-related customer service concerns.
  • Communicate results to Loan Servicing Specialists for further action.
  • Accurately complete all necessary monetary and file maintenance transactions related to loans.
  • Maintain all escrow accounts, tracking, and analysis processes for taxes and insurance.
  • Review and process the Bank's portfolio of loans sold to the secondary market.
  • Assist in perfecting liens on new loans and maintaining collateral on existing loans.
  • Complete processes for paid-off loans, including preparation of releases.
  • Assist Loss Mitigation/Collections with transactions related to Special Delinquency customers.
  • Prepare various Board and Management level reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to the position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years relevant business or banking experience.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Excellent internal and external customer service skills.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality work output.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including understanding loan-related credit/debit transactions.
  • Ability to solve practical problems in varied situations.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in different formats.
