About the position
The position requires a working knowledge of loan operations, including documentation preparation, quality control, loan booking, funding, and research, as well as servicing and maintenance. The role may involve limited management duties. Responsibilities include loan-related research, billing maintenance, monitoring collateral insurance, document preparation, and ensuring compliance with loan closing requirements. The individual will assist auditors and regulatory examiners, work on special projects, and support various departments within the bank.
Responsibilities
- Conduct loan-related research including legal, customer, or auditor/examiner requests.
- Maintain billing records.
- Monitor collateral insurance (hazard/flood).
- Prepare loan documentation including sorting and assigning applications for processing.
- Upload new and renewed loans into the IBS system using Laser Pro.
- Review loan closing documents for accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct post-closing document reviews.
- Assist auditors and regulatory examiners during reviews.
- Collaborate on special projects within the department.
- Verify accuracy of documents for new loans before boarding.
- Track corrections or changes and escalate issues as needed.
- Execute loan transactions and set up escrows and collateral.
- Post escrows, interest, and principal collected with loan funding.
- Work with management and accounting to confirm transaction postings.
- Provide assistance and information regarding loan setup to all departments.
- Review new loans selected for testing each month.
- Review loans from the servicing portfolio to ensure correct servicing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Minimum five years of loan operations banking experience.
- High school diploma or GED with 10 years of loan operations banking experience expected.
- Management experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office and banking software.
