About The Position

At Regions, the Loan Servicing Specialist performs a variety of operational tasks within Loan Servicing which may include special servicing, loan workout, investor relations, and loan operations. This position requires the tracking of time and is eligible for overtime for hours worked in excess of 40 per week under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Applicants will be expected to pass any assessment associated with the position
Ability to interpret and ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and industry guidance
Data entry and typing skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Strong time management
Strong written and verbal communication skills

One (1) year of banking or related work experience

Responsibilities

Receives and reviews incoming work, contacting appropriate resources as needed
Reviews loan documentation for accuracy
Completes validation of loan documentation, reports, and/or systems
Documents missing, incorrect, or incomplete documents/data
Performs data entry and/or enters loans into the appropriate systems
Resolves customer or associate inquiries as necessary and communicates when applicable
Prepares, edits, distributes, and/or corrects documents/reports
Researches and resolves loan related issues which may include missing payments, disputed accounts history requests and general loan related questions
Works under general supervision following established guidelines and procedures
Ensures compliance with risk management programs, rules and regulations, and cybersecurity practices; identifies opportunities for and supports process improvements; applies disciplined change management practices
Order and approve demand letters for delinquent loans
Prepare files that have been deemed eligible by management per policy to be charged off.
QC default values and Charge offs to verify they are in line with policy
Post and reconcile loan payments promptly and accurately, including suspense, partial, and late payments
Coordinate with default resolution attorneys, providing documentation, responding to inquiries, and tracking case milestones
Prepare and review default resolution files, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance prior to referral and throughout the process
