About the position

The Senior Loan Officer position is located in the Office of the Senior Vice President of Board Authorized Finance (OBAF) of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM). The primary responsibility of the position is to support the most complex international portfolio of financial transactions under the guidance of the Supervisor. Duties include, but are not limited to: performing as an expert in one or more of the division's subject matter areas such as project and/or corporate finance credit analytics, sectoral focus, complex restructuring and workout expertise, capital markets analysis, or other areas as may be determined; serving as a Relationship Manager for borrowers, lenders, and exporters for the most complex portfolios of transactions; performing broad and comprehensive research and analysis on the most complex portfolios and developing advanced level financial modeling; negotiating financing terms with borrowers or other creditors; and representing EXIM as an expert in designated subject matter areas at interagency meetings and public conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Perform as an expert in one or more of the division's subject matter areas such as project and/or corporate finance credit analytics.
  • Serve as a Relationship Manager for borrowers, lenders, and exporters for the most complex portfolios of transactions.
  • Perform broad and comprehensive research and analysis on the most complex portfolios.
  • Develop advanced level financial modeling using financial information provided by borrowers, sponsors, lenders, and public sources.
  • Negotiate financing terms with borrowers or other creditors for new authorizations or changes to existing transactions.
  • Prepare and present key issues and recommendations to the appropriate approval body.
  • Represent EXIM at interagency meetings and public conferences.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Background and Security/Suitability Investigation.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal Government.
  • Experience as an expert in credit analytics and originating new loans for complex transactions.
  • Experience serving as a relationship manager for highly complex transactions.
  • Experience performing comprehensive research and analysis on complex portfolios.
  • Experience negotiating financing terms independently.
