About the position

The Lobby Lounge Server Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the service team by ensuring that the lobby lounge operates smoothly and efficiently. This part-time position involves various tasks such as retrieving orders, assisting servers, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The role requires physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while providing excellent service to guests.

Responsibilities

• Retrieves orders from storeroom and checks stock against written requisition.
• Assists servers with refilling hot water for guests.
• Clears dirty tables and resets with appropriate place settings.
• Cuts, slices, and peels perishable garnishes and fruits, and mixes and pours juices.
• Checks and assists servers in maintaining adequate supplies for the lobby lounge and service areas.
• Maintains cleanliness of the lobby lounge area, food prep station, refrigeration, and storage areas.
• Scoops ice from bins and transports to service areas.
• Boxes and saves empty liquor bottles for later returns and requisitions.
• Attends mandatory meetings and performs general cleaning tasks.
• Keeps work area clean and organized and completes other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to work, stand, and work in confined spaces for long periods of time.
• Requires the ability to lift and carry objects weighing a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand on feet for long periods and walk while pushing trays of food.
• Knowledgeable in preparation and service of food.
• Basic mathematical skills for proper delivery amounts and portion sizes.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife, pick up glassware, and scoop ice.
• Basic knowledge of English for customer inquiries and simple instructions.
• Ability to comprehend written product labeling instructions.
• Ability to grasp, bend, lift, or carry goods weighing up to 150 lbs.
• Ability to perform duties within temperature ranges from normal to refrigerated.

Nice-to-haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous hospitality experience preferred.
• Food Handler's Certification required.
• RBS Training Certification required.
