About the position

HealthTrust Workforce Solutions HCA is seeking a local contract nurse RN for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Overland Park, Kansas. This position is a 13-week contract role, requiring a commitment of 36 hours per week with 12-hour shifts. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate and skilled registered nurse (RN) with a strong background in acute care settings. Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the ICU.
  • Monitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs and symptoms.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families about health conditions and treatment options.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide critical care as needed.

Requirements

  • Degree from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum 1-year acute care experience in a hospital setting.
  • Current State Nursing License.
  • Appropriate certifications for the specific position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a critical care environment.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
