About the position

As a Delivery Driver at Airgas, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers. Your responsibilities will include performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, loading and unloading gas cylinders and supplies, and making timely deliveries. Safety is a top priority at Airgas, and you will be expected to adhere to all safety protocols, including compliance with FMCSA regulations regarding drug and alcohol testing. Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently deliver compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Load and unload gas cylinders and supplies daily.
  • Maintain courteous and professional relationships with customers.
  • Make timely deliveries of gas cylinders.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations.

Requirements

  • Valid TX Class A or B Commercial Driver's License.
  • Valid Medical Examiner's Card.
  • Hazmat and Airbrake Certifications.
  • One (1) year of prior Class A or B professional driving experience within the last five (5) years with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
  • Ability to routinely lift 25 - 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.
  • Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is also required.
  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work occasional overtime if necessary.
