The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is seeking to employ temporary local hires to assist with disaster response and recovery efforts in Bloomington, Minnesota. This position is specifically for a Human Resources Specialist who will provide essential administrative and human resources support during critical times. The term of employment for a local hire is 120 days, with the possibility of extensions in 120-day increments based on the ongoing needs of the disaster response efforts. In this role, you will work closely with hiring managers to assess personnel and staffing requirements, ensuring that the agency is adequately staffed to meet the demands of disaster recovery. You will be responsible for preparing HR documentation, including the Request for Personnel Action (SF-52) form, and retrieving workforce management information reports. Analyzing report data, verifying its accuracy, and taking corrective actions as necessary will be key components of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will provide guidance on timekeeping policies and procedures, inputting corrections into the timekeeping system as needed. As a Local Hire, you will be involved in various emergency management functions, which may include disaster survivor assistance, conducting and verifying damage assessments, and providing administrative, financial, and logistical support.
