About the position

The Local Manager at Frontier California Inc. is responsible for overseeing operational proficiency and fostering employee, customer, and community relations. This role involves leading a team of field technicians to ensure the installation and maintenance of broadband services and related equipment, while also driving performance to meet market growth targets and achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Meet service activation and repair commitment dates, maintaining revenue and expense budget objectives, and promoting new and existing company products.
  • Work with various organizations to monitor service SLAs and workload, ensuring manpower and resources are available to meet demands.
  • Communicate with other departments to improve coordination and service quality for customers.
  • Conduct quality control inspections, including tool, building, and vehicle inspections.
  • Manage a P&L budget to ensure revenue goals and expense targets are met.
  • Provide feedback, ongoing training, and motivation to the team to exceed department goals.
  • Partner with Human Resources to ensure consistent application of practices and policies.
  • Maintain a safe work environment through regular safety meetings and training.
  • Engage with the community to positively represent Frontier.
  • Partner with marketing to ensure competitive responses in the local market.
  • Respond to issues identified on Customer Surveys.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of Central Office, IOF, FTTH, and data networks.
  • Field Technician work experience preferred.
  • Supervisory experience in an operations environment or equivalent work/military experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with internal and external customers as well as labor unions.
  • Ability to lead a team while working under pressure with deadlines.
  • Basic knowledge of engineering, plant service center, outside plant functions, electrical circuitry, network installation, maintenance, and testing of central offices.
  • Must possess basic PC skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Must be available 24/7 to support off-shift technicians and emergency situations as needed.
  • Must be able to work in inclement weather.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • CCNA, PMP, or CWNP a plus.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.
