The Lock Technician for Safe and Vault is responsible for the technical expertise required to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and electronic locking systems. This role involves performing combination changes on various types of mechanical and electronic safe/vault locks, as well as repairing and maintaining safe/vault doors and interior lockers. The technician will also be tasked with opening, repairing, and installing safe deposit box locks, and rekeying or repairing physical security locks and containers. The position requires coordination with administration to efficiently complete projects and work orders, ensuring that all documentation is provided in electronic formats to comply with company procedures. In addition to technical skills, the Lock Technician must maintain and control inventory, accurately listing parts on work orders and proactively replenishing truck stock to meet operational goals. Effective communication is crucial, as the technician must respond to phone calls and emails from other personnel within specified timeframes. Timekeeping is also an essential aspect of the role, requiring accurate reporting of dispatch, arrival, and completion times, as well as the submission of time via Remote Tech weekly. The technician must maintain their security license by adhering to annual continuing education requirements and must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen test. A valid driver’s license and insurance are also necessary for this position. The role demands strong customer service skills, effective communication, and the ability to perform under pressure, especially when interacting with bank personnel. The working conditions can be challenging, as the technician may work in loud environments with multiple distractions and extreme temperature ranges.
