About the position

The Locksmith at MGM Springfield is responsible for providing a range of locksmith services, including the repair, rebuilding, replacement, and installation of locks and mechanical parts throughout the property. This role emphasizes excellent guest service and requires a proactive approach to maintaining security and accessibility within the facility.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, rebuild, and service mechanical or electrical locking devices using hand tools and special equipment.
• Determine proper method for key cutting and duplication, and properly stamp codes on keys with index.
• Issue keys for the interior and exterior of buildings, maintain records of key assignments and locks, and change lock combinations as needed.
• Set up and maintain a master key system.
• Utilize computer programs for keying and specification writing.
• Maintain a variety of locks and locking devices; order key blanks, lock parts, and other materials required for inventory.
• Inspect key and locking systems for buildings, change combinations on safes and vaults, and perform emergency keying and opening services.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local safety and security regulations.
• Promote and maintain the highest level of customer service to all guests.
• Perform other job-related duties as requested.

Requirements

• 2+ years of prior relevant experience in repair, installation, and maintenance of locking devices.
• Possess appropriate legal requirements, such as a license.
• At least 21 years old/certification/registration.
• Knowledgeable in the use of federally listed lubricants such as graphite, oil, and grease.
• Knowledgeable in using key cutting equipment, hand drills, buffers, grinders, and key gauges.
