About the position

Aya Locums is seeking a dedicated and skilled Hospitalist Physician for a locum tenens position in Tucson, AZ. This role is designed for a 13-week assignment, offering a competitive hourly rate ranging from $180 to $200. As a Hospitalist Physician, you will be responsible for assessing patients, documenting medical histories, and addressing any inquiries or concerns they may have. Your expertise will be crucial in diagnosing and managing various injuries, illnesses, and medical conditions, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care. In this position, you will conduct, analyze, and interpret diagnostic tests, effectively communicating the results to patients and their families. Keeping patient records current is essential, and you will be expected to update information and treatments regularly. You will also develop comprehensive treatment plans and recommendations tailored to each patient's needs. Collaboration with other healthcare professionals is key to coordinating patient care, and you will be expected to stay informed about advances in medicine and best practices to enhance patient outcomes. This role requires a commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You will be working 7 shifts of 12 hours each, from 07:00 to 19:00, which will require strong time management and organizational skills to ensure all patient needs are met efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients and document medical histories.
  • Address patient inquiries and concerns.
  • Diagnose and manage injuries, illnesses, and medical conditions.
  • Conduct, analyze, and interpret diagnostic tests and communicate results to patients.
  • Keep patient records current by updating information and treatments.
  • Develop treatment plans and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Stay up to date with advances in medicine and best practices.

Requirements

  • An active and unencumbered physician license in the state of employment.
  • Board certification or eligibility for certification in a specialty relevant to the role (highly preferred).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • A Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree.
  • Completed residency program in your chosen specialty.
  • Continuing medical education (CME) activities to maintain medical licenses.

  • Experience in diagnostic and clinical decision-making.
