About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant specializing in Internal Medicine for a locum tenens position in Waverly, Virginia. The selected candidate will work Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, with no on-call duties, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule. The facility is well-equipped and supports a collaborative environment where the Physician Assistant will work alongside a team that includes a Medical Doctor who visits once a week, a Director of Nursing, administrative staff, Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). The patient population primarily consists of geriatric patients, and the Physician Assistant will be responsible for managing a case load of approximately 20-25 patients per day. Credentialing for this position typically takes about one week, and candidates must possess a valid Virginia license and DEA registration. Familiarity with EMR systems, specifically PointClickCare and Gerimed, is essential for efficient patient management. This role requires board certification and prescriptive authority, ensuring that the Physician Assistant can provide comprehensive care to patients. Responsibilities

Requirements
