About the position

CompHealth is seeking a Locums Urgent Care Physician to join our team in Winchester, Virginia. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a flexible environment, catering to a diverse patient population. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing urgent care services, which include performing therapeutic procedures such as incision and drainage (I&D), splinting, suturing, managing infections, and wound care. The role requires a commitment to seeing patients of all ages, with an expected patient volume of 3 to 4 patients per hour. The work schedule includes weekdays, weekends, and 12-hour shifts, with no on-call responsibilities, allowing for a balanced work-life dynamic. As a Locums Urgent Care Physician, you will be supported by CompHealth, which will handle all the logistics, including housing arrangements and credentialing processes. Responsibilities

  • Provide urgent care services to patients of all ages.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures such as incision and drainage (I&D), splinting, suturing, managing infections, and wound care.
  • See an average of 3 to 4 patients per hour.
  • Work flexible shifts including weekdays and weekends, with 12-hour shifts and no on-call responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Must have an active state license.
  • Board Certified (BC) in Urgent Care or a related specialty is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Credentialing and DEA registration are needed.
