About the position

The Logistics Lead is responsible for overseeing the Logistics Analysts and office staff to ensure efficient service delivery and operational excellence. This role focuses on maximizing productivity, enhancing customer experience, and maintaining safety standards. The Logistics Lead will also be involved in training, evaluating performance, and implementing improvements in logistics processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction to Logistics Analysts and office staff to instill a culture of safety.
  • Conduct hazard or site assessments to promote safety for Drivers and Customers.
  • Oversee routing decisions to support operations and drive efficiency.
  • Manage performance for all workers, including issuing warnings when necessary.
  • Monitor and evaluate route design and sequencing with Logistics Analysts.
  • Ensure adherence to the Unserviceable Process to prevent MPUs.
  • Build weekly plans to close gaps and achieve goals, reviewing them with Logistics Analysts.
  • Forecast volumes monthly with Logistics Analysts and the Operations Manager.
  • Review KPMs, Missed Pickups, and Service Commitment goals monthly with the Operations Manager.
  • Discuss disposal plans quarterly with Logistics Analysts and the Operations Manager.
  • Support and oversee route audits and reroutes to improve efficiency.
  • Align daily activities with Company culture change and priorities.
  • Interact with Customers to resolve service issues and enhance Customer Experience.
  • Execute operational plans to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
  • Review logistics processes to identify and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Fill in for Logistics Analysts during vacations and assign work to the team.
  • Conduct training for Logistics Analysts.
  • Act as the primary contact for underperforming staff or those needing assistance.
  • Complete special projects as directed by the Operations Manager or General Manager.

Requirements

  • Good customer service skills to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Project and time management skills to meet division budgeted goals while prioritizing safety.
  • Ability to understand operational processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Results-oriented with a commitment to organizational success.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Collaborative mindset to build and work with teams.
  • Creative thinking to challenge conventional solutions.
  • Demonstrated ethical behavior.
  • 1 year of lead or prior supervisory experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two plus years of experience as a Dispatcher/Logistics Analyst.
