About the position

The Logistics Lead at Republic Services is responsible for overseeing the Logistics Analysts and office staff to ensure efficient operations, maximize productivity, and provide excellent customer service. This role involves training, supporting, and evaluating the execution of tasks related to safety, customer experience, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to Logistics Analysts and office staff to instill a culture of safety.
• Conduct hazard or site assessments to promote safety for drivers and customers.
• Oversee routing decisions to support operations and drive efficiency.
• Manage performance of workers, including issuing verbal and written warnings as necessary.
• Monitor and evaluate route design and sequencing with Logistics Analysts.
• Ensure compliance with the Unserviceable Process to prevent missed pickups.
• Build weekly plans to close gaps and achieve goals, reviewing with Logistics Analysts.
• Forecast volumes monthly with Logistics Analysts and the Operations Manager.
• Review key performance metrics and create improvement plans as needed.
• Support and oversee route audits and reroutes to maximize efficiency.
• Align daily activities with company culture and priorities.
• Interact with customers to resolve service issues and enhance customer experience.
• Execute operational plans to meet or exceed budgeted goals.
• Review logistics processes to identify and implement efficiency improvements.
• Fill in for Logistics Analysts during vacations and assign work to the team.
• Conduct training for Logistics Analysts.
• Act as the primary contact for underperforming staff or those needing assistance.
• Complete special projects as directed by management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two plus years of experience as a Dispatcher/Logistics Analyst.
• 1 year of lead or supervisory experience.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Project and time management skills.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to develop a deep understanding of operational processes and pain points.
