About the position
The Logistics Administrator at Nucor is responsible for managing the flow of trucks entering and exiting New York State, ensuring compliance with safety requirements, and maintaining effective communication with team members and carriers. This role emphasizes continuous improvement in safety culture and collaboration across departments, while also requiring flexibility to work nights, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
Responsibilities
- Scale in and out all trucks entering and exiting NYS.
- Enter data information electronically.
- Communicate all safety requirements and adequate directions to carriers.
- Communicate effectively with all other affected NYS Team Members.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of safety culture.
- Support company activities and develop relationships with all NYS Departments, OTR carriers, and customers.
Requirements
- Strong leadership skills and ability to foster teamwork.
- Ability to analyze problems and think rationally under pressure.
- Demonstrated honesty/integrity, teamwork, optimism, open communication, commitment/work ethic, innovation, and openness to change.
- Ability to give full attention to what others are saying and communicate information clearly.
- Knowledge of clerical procedures and systems such as word processing and managing files.

- D.O.T and Haz-Mat Certification
- Logistics Background (OTR Hauling, RRs, Barge Lines, Transloading, etc.)
- Proficiency with AS400, Oracle, Carrier Point, Intellitrans, Excel, Word, and PPT.
