About the position

The Logistics and Asset Management Lead at Raytheon is a pivotal role designed to support a fast-paced, high-tech mission in the Northern Virginia area. This position is contingent upon funding, customer approval, and successful completion of a background investigation. The Lead will be embedded within a multi-disciplined team that includes logistics, procurement, and engineering personnel, tasked with providing quick-reaction support services. The individual in this role is expected to independently interact with a variety of customers daily, demonstrating self-motivation and the ability to prioritize tasks in a complex and dynamic environment. Building relationships with remote logistics teams is essential to expedite shipments and ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. The responsibilities of the Lead will vary widely from day to day, requiring a comprehensive knowledge of Property Management, Warehouse Operations, and the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). The logistics personnel will be cross-trained in all areas of warehouse operation, inventory management, and procurement. The Lead will also be responsible for mentoring and training specialists to ensure adequate coverage across the team. Familiarity with local business policies, procedures, and public law is crucial for compliance. Additionally, the Lead may have opportunities to transport customer items within the Washington Metropolitan Area and nationwide, as well as shipping items to an OCONUS facility operated by Raytheon. The role may require travel to the site to understand how items are tracked, consumed, and stored. The position demands physical resilience, as the specialist will be required to work in inclement weather conditions and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds unaided. The Lead must also obtain a DOT Medical Card, drive forklifts, and be certified for DOT/IATA Hazardous Materials and Electrostatic Discharge. This role is integral to ensuring the success of logistics operations and requires a strong commitment to customer service and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a small Logistics and Asset Management team supporting high-tech missions.
  • Interact with various customers daily to ensure satisfaction and support.
  • Create relationships with remote logistics teams to expedite shipments.
  • Mentor and train logistics specialists to ensure team coverage.
  • Ensure compliance with local business policies and public law.
  • Transport customer items within the Washington Metropolitan Area and nationwide.
  • Ship items to OCONUS facilities operated by Raytheon.
  • Work in inclement weather conditions to complete mission requirements.
  • Lift items weighing up to 50 pounds unaided.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of related experience.
  • Experience supporting global mission-centric programs.
  • Experience leading, guiding, and managing a team of up to 10 personnel.
  • Demonstrable logistics-related experience.
  • Good driving record and ability to drive a 26 ft box truck.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work as a team player.
  • Ability to work in inclement weather conditions.
  • Must have a TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
