About the position

The Logistics and Project Manager position at William & Mary is a part-time, fixed-term role focused on overseeing the relocation of three key units to the new Robert M. Gates Hall. The position requires strategic planning and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the successful integration of the units' missions and cultures into the new space. This role is essential for managing the design and build process while ensuring that the needs of all parties are met effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and adopt a strategic design plan that translates the culture and mission of three distinct units into a cohesive visual identity.
  • Ensure that workplace cultural practices, research activities, and needs across three units, 15 research labs, and 90 staff are understood and communicated effectively.
  • Collaborate with W&M architecture, design, and build teams to ensure timely communication across all parties.
  • Lead a space planning committee to ensure the needs and preferences of each organization are reflected in the design plans.
  • Represent the needs and decisions identified by the committee to other parties at William & Mary and architecture, design, and build teams.
  • Attend build and design meetings for Gates Hall and represent the collective needs of IIC, GRI, WGC at these meetings.
  • Coordinate and implement build out of branding and visual design elements for IIC, GRI, and WGC in Gates Hall.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with consulting on business moves/relocations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate with and present information to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and resolve issues effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Public speaking experience.
  • Experience supporting and advising varied levels of constituents.
  • Familiarity with William & Mary departments and operational policies.
  • Experience with architectural design builds for cross-functional purposes in academia.
  • Experience working with university centers and leadership.
  • Experience working with architectural designers.
  • Proficiency in computer skills including Internet-based systems and Microsoft Office.
