About the position

The Logistics and Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the logistics and warehouse operations, ensuring efficient processes from start to finish. This role requires strong analytical and technical skills, leadership capabilities, and a focus on quality and accuracy in all tasks. The manager will develop new systems and improve existing ones while maintaining a high standard of work and fostering a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Daily communication of department goals and key indicators on performance to all team members
  • Supportive, non-threatening leadership style
  • Communicate with project management team and schedule delivery of finished goods to job sites
  • Keep track of all finished goods before shipping, including prebuild and store items in off-site warehouse
  • Review all finished good items for quality and address issues with the production team
  • Track Cost of Quality work orders through the production process
  • Manage palletization and packaging of finished goods, including labeling
  • Manage creation of shipment items in ERP software (Innergy) and printing of bill of ladings
  • Delegate shipments to drivers and manage shipment/loading process throughout the workday
  • Delegate daily activities in department scope with clear expectations
  • Address department needs of all team members and remove obstacles impacting workflow
  • Document and take actions to improve key performance indicators
  • Move team members to different work posts based on priorities
  • Understand and communicate priorities based on delivery schedule
  • Provide hands-on support at all work posts and backfill positions when necessary
  • Communicate with team members about attendance and performance
  • Provide oversight of safety in the department and coach team members on procedures
  • Administer a managerial presence on the department floor at least 60% of each shift
  • Provide coaching to team members to improve efficiency and quality
  • Ensure compliance with shift schedules and timely returns from breaks
  • Create an environment for continuous improvement and escalate issues to management
  • Build rapport within the department and cultivate a team-oriented environment
  • Supervise and manage activities related to the receiving department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of goods.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED, or higher is required
  • One or more years' experience within the woodworking, manufacturing, or construction industry is preferred
  • One or more years' experience in a shipping, logistics, or warehouse related position is preferred
  • Experience with the use of ERP software is preferred

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a leadership role within logistics or warehouse management
  • Familiarity with shipment scheduling software
  • Knowledge of safety regulations in warehouse operations
