About the position

The Logistics Associate (Loader) position at Carvana is a full-time hourly role based in Winder, GA, responsible for various tasks related to staging and preparing inventory vehicles for inbound and outbound transport and direct delivery. This individual contributor role requires a strong focus on safety and efficiency while handling vehicles and working in a dynamic environment. The associate will utilize handheld computers and radio frequency identification scanning equipment to process transactions, verify, and troubleshoot inventory locations. The position involves accurately receiving, organizing, locating, and staging inventory vehicles on the lot in accordance with processing and safety standards. In addition to staging vehicles, the Logistics Associate will conduct multi-point inspections of inventory vehicles and complete inspection reports accurately. They will also perform preliminary hauler inspections to identify and report any issues that may prevent haulers from being in service. Consistently meeting processing and quality standards is crucial, as is maintaining the lot and workspace areas. The associate will safely operate company-owned vehicles and fuel inventory vehicles as needed. As a loader, the individual will work closely with drivers and other loaders to load the 9-car carhaulers that transport vehicles across the country. This role may require loading and unloading vehicles independently. The associate will pull cars from a staging area, assess the correct positioning for each car on the trailer based on weight and size, and strap them down according to DOT regulations. This position is physically demanding, requiring frequent movement, bending, kneeling, and the ability to work in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Use handheld computers and radio frequency identification scanning equipment to process transactions, verify and troubleshoot inventory location.
  • Accurately receive, organize, locate, and stage inventory vehicles on-lot consistent with processing and safety standards.
  • Complete multi-point inspections of inventory vehicles and accurately complete inspection reports.
  • Complete preliminary hauler inspections to identify and timely report issues that remove haulers from service.
  • Consistently meet processing and quality standards.
  • Maintain lot and workspace areas.
  • Safely operate company owned vehicles.
  • Fuel inventory vehicles as needed.
  • Work alongside Drivers and other Loaders to load the 9 car carhaulers that transport vehicles around the country.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 18 years of age and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, compliant with Company guidelines.
  • Ability to operate a computer and company issued tablet and mobile devices.
  • Ability to work as a team player and interact with customers, managers, and coworkers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to frequently and safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
  • Ability to work variable schedule(s) as necessary.
