About the position

The Logistics/Category Specialist at Astrix Technology Group is responsible for executing strategic sourcing strategies and best practices to enhance supplier quality, cost-effectiveness, and service levels. This role involves indirect procurement sourcing, supplier negotiations, and freight bid execution, while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. The position offers a remote opportunity, with a preference for candidates local to Jefferson County, CO.

Responsibilities

• Execute category sourcing strategies, including RFX development, supplier selection, and negotiations.
• Lead freight bids for ocean and air using industry tools.
• Streamline business processes and leverage market trends to inform decision-making.
• Develop negotiation strategies, lead cross-functional negotiation teams, and conduct direct supplier negotiations.
• Identify and manage sourcing projects using spend data and business insights.
• Ensure category performance meets savings targets and business objectives.
• Present business cases and cost savings proposals for approval.
• Maintain compliance with purchasing, legal, financial, and regulatory requirements.
• Adhere to global procurement policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of procurement or category management experience, ideally within multinational contexts.
• Proficient in logistics, sourcing, contract terms, and category management.
• Proven track record in RFx development, supplier negotiation, and achieving cost savings.
• Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Nice-to-haves

• Preferred Certifications CPSM, CPM, CPP, CPIM, or equivalent is a plus.
