About the position
The Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the manufacturing process within a growing company in Fort Worth. This position is responsible for ensuring transportation timeliness and cost efficiency, negotiating with logistics vendors, and optimizing supply chain processes. The coordinator will work closely with the manufacturing team to maintain inventory levels and improve operational efficiency, while also adhering to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Supports the organization in maintaining a high level of transportation timeliness and cost efficiency
- Negotiates and secures 3rd party logistics vendors for freight movement, optimization, and shipment issue resolution
- Develops processes that make the supply chain more efficient and organized
- Utilizes appropriate tools to optimize in-stock and minimize unproductive inventories
- Keeps management updated on current projects and problems
- Monitors inventory and purchases products for Maintenance, Repair, and Warehouse Operations
- Assists in developing solutions to overages and inventory discrepancies
- Participates and adds value as a member of the Manufacturing Team
- Engages in effective communication within and across all departments
- Participates in Company Safety Program through safety meetings, audits, and maintaining a safe work environment
- Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure workload coverage
- Ensures commitment to quality by meeting and exceeding customer expectations and continuously improving quality management systems
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of logistics and supply chain procurement experience
- Effective problem-solving skills along with good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to lead processes and people towards effective and efficient operations
- Self-motivating individual with a positive approach
- Proficient at MS Office Suite
