About the position

The Logistics Coordinator/Supervisor is responsible for overseeing warehouse personnel and activities, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, and shipping of materials. This role involves coordinating daily operations, training employees, and implementing process improvements to meet productivity goals while adhering to safety and compliance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate warehouse personnel and activities including receipt, storage, and shipping of materials.
  • Organize day-to-day picking and loading resourcefully and economically.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to resolve discrepancies related to shipping, receiving, or inventory.
  • Research errors and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop plans and programs for process improvement.
  • Coordinate training for new and current employees on safety and warehouse procedures.
  • Prepare work schedules including assignments, training, breaks, and overtime.
  • Ensure building security during scheduled hours.
  • Assign daily workload to warehouse personnel.
  • Supervise warehouse safety and housekeeping practices.
  • Confirm adherence to warehouse SOPs and handle corrective actions as necessary.
  • Address employee issues effectively and efficiently.
  • Compile daily productivity and reliability statistics for management.
  • Supervise warehouse personnel performance and provide cross-training as needed.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews.
  • Complete daily sanitation schedule and process end-shift paperwork.
  • Inform Operations Manager of potential problems and changes.
  • Act as backup in the absence of Operations Manager.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of distribution and warehouse management experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience required.
  • Familiarity with FDA and cGMP requirements.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct appropriate research as needed.
  • Attention to detail and organization.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Interest in working in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ERP systems such as Tecsys Elite and Compliance Quest.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience in warehouse or supply chain environments and transportation.
  • Ability to conduct/track graphical and data-driven analytics related to client performance.
  • Ability to maintain and track budget/spending trends.
  • Advanced public speaking and presentation skills.
