About the position

The Logistics Lead I is responsible for overseeing the Material Movement operations within the warehouse. This role involves coordinating and supervising employees in the handling of materials, ensuring efficient operations, and maintaining safety standards. The Logistics Lead will also be involved in training staff, managing inventory, and ensuring quality assurance in the logistics processes.

Responsibilities

• Managing staff: Training new hires, supervising staff, and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently
• Managing inventory: Tracking inventory, ensuring accuracy, and participating in stock takes
• Managing operations: Coordinating shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, and returns
• Managing equipment: Monitoring equipment and supplies, and ordering new items when needed
• Managing safety: Ensuring safety protocols are followed
• Managing supply chain: Liaising with suppliers and customers, and overseeing supply chain management processes
• Managing logistics: Overseeing logistics for transporting products to customers and company facilities
• Managing quality: Ensuring quality assurance and floor productivity
• Managing maintenance: Inspecting equipment, tools, and machinery, and overseeing general maintenance
• Creating reports: Creating reports for management

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
• Basic to mid-level math and reading skills
• Good communication skills
• Basic computer skills
• Strong self-confidence and leadership skills
• Possess forklift license or ability to obtain one through Hearthside Foods
• Ability to work with little supervision
• Understands basic concept of First In/First Out (FIFO) product rotation
• Must be accurate and detail-oriented
