About the position

The Logistics Manager for the Dedicated Transportation Start Up Team at Ryder System is responsible for overseeing the setup and ongoing support of new Dedicated Transportation Solutions business startups. This role involves training drivers and managers, ensuring compliance with operational systems, and engaging in process documentation and system testing. The position requires extensive travel, approximately 75-80%, to various business locations across the country.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a setup consultant for new Dedicated Transportation Solutions business startups.
  • Train drivers and management teams on core operations and systems.
  • Ensure adherence to customer critical success factors during the startup phase.
  • Engage in writing process documents and system testing.
  • Provide guidance on operational consistency and process flow.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain preferred.
  • Three or more years of relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, or warehouse operations required.
  • Two or more years of experience managing and leading direct reports required.
  • Excellent knowledge of Transportation and/or Warehouse Logistics operations required.
  • Excellent knowledge of safety and security requirements required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of driver route tools is a plus.
  • Ability to manage Profit & Loss statements may be necessary depending on the complexity and scope of the operation.
