About the position

The Logistics Manager at APAC Tennessee, Inc. plays a crucial role in directing and coordinating activities that lead to the delivery of company products, specifically aggregates and asphalt. This position is salaried and may require occasional equipment operation along with labor. The Logistics Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory mandates, company policies, and procedures governing worker safety and plant operations. This includes maintaining DOT Driver Files and ensuring compliance with company policies for subcontracted haulers. In this role, the Logistics Manager will confer with management personnel to establish schedules and quality delivery control standards, as well as cost controls. They will plan and direct production activities, establishing production priorities for products while considering effective operations and cost factors. The Logistics Manager will also review and analyze production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to identify causes of non-conformity with product specifications and operational problems. Additionally, the Logistics Manager will develop and implement operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate problems, improve product quality, and ensure that the operational status of company plants does not affect the production of materials for customers. Maintaining and improving the appearance of company property and facilities is also a key responsibility, along with ensuring that operating costs remain within budgeted amounts.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School Graduate
  • 3 plus years supervisory experience in transportation operations.
  • Knowledge of production technology, methods, and capabilities of machinery and equipment.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and State and Federal procedures, practices, and specifications as they relate to quality control and production activities.
