About the position

Ecolab is hiring for a Logistics Manager - Projects, responsible for executing supply chain strategies and integrating these strategies within the assigned region. This position works cross-functionally to influence, lead, develop, and execute strategic supply chain initiatives aimed at driving growth, operational efficiencies, reducing inventories, and improving service. The Logistics Manager will lead cross-functional teams and manage customer initiatives to identify and implement streamlined, standardized, simplified, and sustainable processes across the Integrated Supply Chain. The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong leadership, be driven by initiative rather than crisis, and be eager to identify, recommend, and complete projects. The Logistics Manager must be based at a specific Ecolab Customer Care Center (EC3) in Garland, TX or McDonough, GA. This role requires regular travel to Ecolab facilities in the region supported, with high visibility and extended travel to support projects, process improvements, or changes being implemented across the network. The Logistics Manager must be able to travel at short notice and for extended periods to cover leadership absences and hot spots. Key responsibilities include leading cross-functional end-to-end teams for joint business planning to drive revenue/margin growth, improving service, and reducing inventories and costs. The manager will analyze key data points and develop action plans to drive improvements in service and reductions in operational costs and inventory investment. They will liaise with regional Manufacturing & Logistics leadership teams to deploy DIFOT loss analysis and service improvements, direct inventory control, warehousing, transportation, logistics planning, order processing, and customer service, ensuring operational compliance with standards, policies, and procedures. The role also involves establishing and maintaining clear communication with contacts across the business, fostering relationships with key vendors/suppliers, and resolving service issues related to logistics. The Logistics Manager will analyze and report data to identify opportunities to achieve established objectives and advise management on logistics innovations that will improve performance and make logistics a competitive advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional end-to-end teams for joint business planning to drive revenue/margin growth, improve service, and reduce inventories and costs.
  • Analyze key data points and develop action plans to drive improvements in service and reductions in operational costs and inventory investment.
  • Liaise with regional Manufacturing & Logistics leadership teams in the deployment of DIFOT loss analysis/service improvements.
  • Direct inventory control, warehousing, transportation, logistics planning, order processing, and customer service, ensuring operational compliance with standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Foster strategies, goals, and plans to better serve customers and work with site & functional leadership on TQM plans and LMS rollouts.
  • Provide regional support for High Score rollouts post hypercare.
  • Direct the development of standards, metrics, processes, and practices including the application of TPM methodology, in alignment with company objectives.
  • Establish and maintain clear communication with contacts across the business; foster close relationships with key vendors/suppliers.
  • Avoid and resolve service issues relating to logistics and collaborate on network design/KPI initiatives.
  • Analyze and report data to identify opportunities to achieve established objectives and advise management on logistics innovations that will improve performance.
  • Identify and manage redesign, capital projects, and vendor changes to improve safety, cost, service, quality, performance, and/or compliance.
  • Foster Lean Six Sigma practices and champion concepts to reports.
  • Meet or exceed measured standards, improving cost and service performance through logistics activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8 years of related warehousing and/or supply chain experience
  • 2 years experience in logistics management
  • 3 years supervisory experience in an operations environment
  • 3 years experience using a formal ERP Warehouse Management System
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced technical or business degree strongly preferred
  • Experience in a related industry (food/beverage, health and hygiene products, pharmaceuticals, etc.) and managing a chemical supply chain
  • Experience with export shipments, DOT 49 CFR compliance, and experience in other related functional areas, including Distribution, Production, Planning, Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, Compliance, Regulatory, and HR
  • Experience in 6 Sigma, Lean, 5S
  • Acquisition integration experience
  • Knowledge of financial measurements of logistics
  • Strong computer literacy and demonstrated use of technology to improve logistics performance
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
  • Tactical and strategic thinking skills
  • CSCP Certification
