About the position

The Logistics Manager/Purchasing Agent at Diversified Plastics Corporation is responsible for overseeing the movement of raw materials and finished goods, ensuring that customers receive their orders on time and in full. This role involves managing logistics operations, negotiating contracts with suppliers, and coordinating purchasing activities to support the company's manufacturing divisions. The position requires a proactive individual who can work collaboratively and manage a small team effectively.

Responsibilities

• Control the movement of raw materials and finished goods to achieve a 100% OTIF rating.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers.
• Work with procurement managers and customers on product selection.
• Plan and oversee incoming and outgoing deliveries.
• Oversee logistics, warehouse, and transport services.
• Manage and oversee a small fleet of company trucks, including arranging backhauls.
• Plan and analyze budgets and expenditures.
• Enforce industry laws and regulations and company policies.
• Resolve complaints and issues regarding the supply chain.
• Maintain customer service logs and safety records.
• Manage and oversee 3-5 direct reports.
• Source suppliers based on price, availability, necessity, quality, and logistical expenses.
• Build relationships with suppliers while maintaining multiple sources for raw materials and supplies.
• Assess vendors through visits, interviews, and analysis.
• Develop a supplier scorecard.
• Collaborate with internal departments to fulfill customer requests.
• Negotiate sale agreements and supply contracts.
• Coordinate with shipping agencies to ensure timely deliveries and oversee the integrity of goods.
• Authorize payments and manage purchasing expenses.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years in a related field with similar duties (Logistics or Purchasing).
• Minimum of 3 years' direct experience with an up-to-date MRP system, Epicor strongly preferred.
• Self-guided and efficient, with the ability to work well within a collaborative team.
