About the position

The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing various logistics operations to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and the safe delivery of goods. This role involves managing drivers, vehicles, and freight logistics while maintaining accurate records and ensuring quality assurance in outgoing loads. The Logistics Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the company's safe quality food initiative and reports directly to the President and Vice President of Production.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor all drivers for assurance of DOT compliance.
  • Monitor all commercial vehicles to assure DOT compliance.
  • Arrange for all vehicle repairs and assure they are completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records for all Drivers.
  • Maintain accurate records on vehicle maintenance.
  • Hire new drivers as needed.
  • Advertise for drivers as needed.
  • Coordinate with safety company on all compliance issues.
  • Book loads for freight as needed.
  • Review all invoices pertaining to vehicle repairs and parts approve for payment.
  • Check weights on all shipments to assure shipments are within legal load limits.
  • Handle all driver questions, complaints, and inquiries.
  • On-call if needed to take care of any issues after hours.
  • Coordinate with Vice President of Operations to route trucks for all loads.
  • Maintain tablets with Big Road ELDs.
  • Arrange for Rental trucks as needed and transport drivers for pickup and return of rentals.
  • Get quotes for new trucks and trailers as needed.
  • Make sure all drivers payrolls are correct and submitted every Monday morning by 8am.
  • Monitor all drivers on ELD for locations and violations.
  • Arrange for drivers on a short-term basis as needed.
  • Route all shipments to assure safe timely deliveries.
  • Schedule warehouse workers in what truck need to be loaded each day.
  • Create a loading schedule for all trucks that need to be loaded.
  • Ensures Quality Assurance of outgoing loads to maintain customer satisfactions per contract requirements.
  • Understand Company's GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Understand Company's Brush and Container color coding program (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures).
  • Understand Company's HACCP program and CCPs (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point).
  • Understand and the safe use of all cleaning chemicals.
  • Coordinate Transportation with Shipping Coordinator.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (Preferred).
  • 2 years of working knowledge with an EDL system (Required).
  • 3 years of logistics experience (Required).
  • 2 years of experience with Microsoft Office (Required).
  • Ability to communicate in English (Preferred).
