About the position

The Logistics Manager at PCSI is responsible for overseeing logistics and procurement operations for a contract with the Southwest Regional Maintenance Center. This role involves assessing and developing inventory procurement and distribution methods to ensure efficiency and compliance with customer commitments. The Logistics Manager will provide leadership to contract employees, enforce policies, and ensure that work meets contractual standards, all while supporting the Project Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision of assigned contract employees, ensuring work is performed properly, on time, safely, and within budget.
  • Recruit, hire, and train employees to meet contract requirements.
  • Administer corporate personnel policies in accordance with contract and Employee Handbook.
  • Support Human Resources in investigations, inquiries, and implementation of actions and policy.
  • Ensure contractual compliance through surveillance, audits, and hands-on inspections of work.
  • Process employee time sheets, new hire and termination paperwork, and other administrative tasks by established deadlines.
  • Assure consumer goods and services are distributed efficiently and profitably, applying scientific principles to logistics processes.
  • Provide logistics technology for effective support of products, equipment, and services.
  • Review contractual commitments and customer specifications to determine logistics requirements.
  • Design and analyze logistics processes and operational solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Assess environmental impact and compliance of logistics activities.
  • Handle inventory, process orders, plan warehouse layouts, and design product packaging for shipping efficiency.
  • Direct the schedule of the procurement process as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or minimum of 10 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and procurement/inventory software.
  • Knowledge of federal laws such as FAR, CFR, SCA, OSHA, ADA, EPA, and JCAHO.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills.
  • Extensive analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in logistics management in a military or government contracting environment.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and compliance.
