About the position

The Logistics Manager at Fleet Farm is a pivotal role that requires a dynamic leader with a passion for guiding teams towards excellence. This position is responsible for overseeing three essential areas within the store: the Freight Team, Stocking Team, and Warehouse Team. The Logistics Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently, focusing on continuous improvement and process implementation. This role is not just about managing logistics; it’s about inspiring and developing a team to achieve their best performance while maintaining high standards of customer service and operational excellence. In this role, the Logistics Manager will oversee the Warehouse Team, which is responsible for daytime receiving, yard operations, return to vendor programs, and the pick, pack, and ship processes. The manager will act as the primary owner of the store's backroom, ensuring that all activities are conducted efficiently and effectively. Additionally, the Freight Team will be under the manager's purview, which includes receiving deliveries, staging incoming deliveries, splitting trucks, and stocking as needed. The Stocking Team, whose primary responsibility is to ensure that products are stocked according to planogram locations and presented according to standards, will also be managed by the Logistics Manager. The Logistics Manager will work closely with human resources to ensure that the logistics areas are staffed with qualified Team Leads and Team Members. This role requires a commitment to teaching, training, coaching, developing, and mentoring team members to ensure consistent execution of tasks. Furthermore, the manager will promote Fleet Farm's customer loyalty program, credit card, and other company initiatives, fostering a culture of customer service excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Warehouse Team activities including daytime receiving, yard operations, return to vendor programs, pick pack and ship, and manage the store's backroom.
  • Manage the Freight Team activities such as receiving deliveries, staging incoming deliveries, splitting trucks, and stocking as needed.
  • Supervise the Stocking Team to ensure staged products are stocked to the correct planogram locations and presented according to standards.
  • Collaborate with human resources to ensure logistics areas are staffed with qualified Team Leads and Team Members.
  • Teach, train, coach, develop, and mentor team members for consistent execution of tasks.
  • Promote Fleet Farm customer loyalty program, credit card, and other company initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or related field or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 3 years of management experience with a Big Box retailer preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and build relationships in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to direct and motivate a diverse population including full-time and part-time team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement solutions, plan and delegate tasks, monitor and achieve goals, and respond to change.
  • Flexible schedule with open availability, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
