The Logistics Manager will play a crucial role in the supply chain management process, ensuring that products are delivered to customers in a timely and efficient manner. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with an analytical mindset, capable of managing a system with multiple moving parts. The Logistics Manager will be responsible for connecting sellers, suppliers, shipping vendors, and customers, ensuring that all logistics operations run smoothly. In this role, the Logistics Manager will organize and monitor the storage and distribution of goods across various locations. They will work closely with the shipping coordinator to ensure that all scheduled shipments are picked up on time and will follow up on any carrier issues that may arise. The manager will also conduct research to address any shipping errors and oversee return shipments due to overages or customer refusals, processing returns and claims as necessary. Additionally, the Logistics Manager will focus on expanding and improving relationships with freight carriers, discussing and negotiating shipping rates and contracts. They will set up and maintain schedules for inbound and outbound shipments with approved carriers, utilizing logistic software and IT systems to streamline operations. Coordination with the Purchasing department will be essential to control the order cycle of deliveries. The manager will also be responsible for managing resources in the supply chain, evaluating effectiveness, and working towards solutions to meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets. They will resolve any arising problems or complaints and monitor KPI reports to improve on-time shipping percentages.
