About the position

Gotion, Inc. is a leading innovator in the next-generation electric vehicle and energy storage technologies, with a global footprint and a commitment to sustainable development. We are currently building a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Manteno, Illinois, and are seeking a passionate and experienced Logistics Manager to join our team. As the Logistics Manager for our Manteno manufacturing plant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective flow of materials throughout the facility. You will be responsible for developing and implementing logistics strategies, managing transportation, optimizing inventory levels, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence. In this role, you will develop and implement a comprehensive logistics strategy for the Manteno manufacturing plant, focusing on cost optimization, efficiency, and timely delivery. You will manage all aspects of inbound and outbound transportation, including carrier selection, negotiation of rates, and route optimization. Additionally, you will oversee the efficient movement of materials within the plant, including warehousing, inventory management, and material handling. Implementing and maintaining an effective inventory control system to minimize carrying costs and ensure material availability will also be a key responsibility. You will develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, carriers, and customs officials. Analyzing logistics data to identify opportunities for improvement and staying abreast of industry trends and best practices in logistics and supply chain management will be essential. Furthermore, you will ensure compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory requirements, making this position vital to the success of our operations.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a logistics management role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of success in developing and implementing logistics strategies that improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Strong understanding of transportation management, inventory control, and warehousing principles.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics software.
