About the position

The Warehouse Manager at TE Connectivity is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations at the Fuquay-Varina, NC location. This role involves managing receiving, shipping, inventory management, and logistics while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies. The Warehouse Manager will utilize Lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement and optimize warehouse processes, leading a team to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all receiving and shipping activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing of inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, quality, and compliance with purchase orders.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all shipping and receiving transactions.
  • Manage and monitor inventory levels to ensure accuracy and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
  • Support and maintain inventory control procedures, including cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Develop and implement efficient warehouse layout and storage strategies, focusing on 5S, Pull, and flow methodologies and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate the movement of goods within the warehouse, ensuring optimal use of equipment and personnel, and minimizing non-value-added activities.
  • Lead, train, and mentor warehouse staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement Lean training programs to ensure staff are knowledgeable in Lean principles and their application in warehouse operations.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to employees.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment, promoting a 5S workplace.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse operations using Lean tools such as Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and root cause analysis.
  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives that align with Lean manufacturing principles across industry leaders.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and take corrective action as needed to meet performance goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in warehouse, logistics, or supply chain operations including 3+ years in leadership.
  • Proven experience in applying Lean manufacturing principles in a warehouse environment.
  • Experience with managing receiving, shipping, and inventory control processes.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, SAP preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
  • Certification in Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or related methodologies is highly preferred.
  • Forklift certification (preferred).
