About the position

The Logistics Manager at Ace Hardware Corporation is responsible for overseeing the entire logistics operation, from the point of merchandise staging in the warehouse to the delivery process to retailers and customers. This role involves managing a $10-$15 million shipping and transportation business, focusing on strategic operational execution, P&L management, and compliance with safety regulations. The Logistics Manager will lead the shipping and transportation organization, set KPIs, and ensure timely and damage-free delivery of products.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all logistics operations from merchandise staging to delivery.
  • Manage a $10-$15 million transportation and shipping operation, including budgeting and expense management.
  • Develop and maintain a safety-first culture in warehouse and on-road operations.
  • Maintain compliance with DOT and regulatory requirements through training and auditing.
  • Support Retail Operations and maintain positive business relationships with stakeholders.
  • Create and execute strategies to leverage equipment and drivers for revenue.
  • Evaluate logistics strategies and identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Hire, train, and develop the transportation and shipping organization.
  • Coordinate with corporate teams for support on systems and compliance initiatives.
  • Ensure timely and damage-free delivery of products to retailers and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics/transportation or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of transportation experience required.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing staff required.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience of a fleet of 20+ drivers preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience overseeing shipping operations preferred.
  • Experience with P&L management and budgeting strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of FMSCA and Department of Transportation rules and regulations required.
  • Strong leadership, management, and strategic thinking skills required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with 3rd party customers or brokers to increase revenue preferred.
  • Experience with on-board cameras and safety technology companies preferred.
