About the position

The Logistics Manager at Atlantic Plywood will oversee operations in a busy distribution center, focusing on process improvement, team development, and supply chain management. This role is crucial for ensuring operational excellence, exceeding customer expectations, and managing talent acquisition and retention. The Logistics Manager will also be responsible for developing annual operating budgets and managing profit and loss, while ensuring compliance with regulations and effective communication across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all operations activities in a distribution center environment.
  • Develop annual operating budgets in support of corporate financial goals and manage P&L.
  • Complete cost justification and determine ROI for capital expenses.
  • Manage talent acquisition, development, and retention of associates.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet service, financial, and operational demands.
  • Strategically oversee location fleet and dedicated delivery processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations.
  • Utilize training programs to develop operations expertise within the facility.
  • Act as liaison to sales leadership to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with all company departments.
  • Lead others to ensure efficient distribution operations through adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Ensure environmental health and safety excellence through compliance with safety and Hazmat regulations.
  • Control costs through productivity of personnel and efficient utilization of facility space.
  • Ensure accurate inventory levels and prevent shrinkage.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • 5 years of logistics/distribution management experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and be on feet most of the day.
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on environment.
  • Ability to use computer systems for day-to-day operations.
  • Must be able to work unsupervised as well as in a team.
  • Must be able to start early and work late occasionally as needed.
  • Authorization to work in the US.
